A Milestone in Hetronic’s Legacy: A Journey Back to March 1994
In the heart of March 1994, a pivotal moment in Hetronic’s history unfolded as a dedicated team member embarked on a journey to personally install a groundbreaking technology: a TG equipped with a full modular receiver. This installation marked a significant leap forward, setting the stage for transformative advancements in remote control systems.
The TG, tailored for the main winch and boasting a robust 300-meter cable, offered an impressive array of functions, including Emergency Stop, Up Normal, Up Slow, Stop, Down Slow, Down Normal, and Key Switch functionalities. Accompanying this innovation was the HH, featuring a selector for the eight storm-winches, facilitating precise control over their up/down movements—a crucial capability for maintaining stability in adverse weather conditions.
This pioneering endeavor found its home in Chantilly, a picturesque locale situated approximately 50 kilometers north of Paris. Renowned for its sprawling castles and prestigious horse breeding, Chantilly provided the perfect backdrop for this technological marvel. Notably, it was on this very site, in 1985, that the iconic James Bond movie “A View to a Kill” was filmed, adding another layer of distinction to the area’s allure.
The installation marked the birth of the first “Aérophile” balloon—a marvel of engineering that could accommodate up to 30 passengers, soaring to heights of 300 meters for exhilarating flights lasting approximately 15 minutes. This maiden voyage laid the foundation for a global phenomenon, with over 120 balloons sold worldwide in the years that followed.
Today, celebrating the 30 year anniversary, the legacy of the Aérophile balloon lives on, with up to 80 balloons still in daily operations across the globe. Moreover, the impact of Hetronic’s Remote Radio Controls (RRCs) extends far beyond the realm of hot air balloons, with up to 100 other attractions benefiting from their precision and reliability in daily operations.
As we reflect on this remarkable journey, we celebrate not only the technological prowess that brought the Aérophile balloon to life but also the enduring legacy of innovation and excellence that defines Hetronic. With each installation, we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible, shaping the future of remote control systems and elevating experiences across industries worldwide.
Join us as we look forward to the next chapter in our journey—a future fueled by innovation, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to excellence.
